This internship, offered through the Capital Planning Division of NYC Capital Planning, offers interns the opportunity to learn about strategic capital investment planing in New York City.
Summer interns would support the Capital Planning Division's work with projects that "may involve analyzing the City’s capital spending as it relates to growth and equity, exploring non-residential development data, and integrating community perspectives into City capital planning. You will be responsible for performing data analysis, producing maps, and documenting and presenting insights."
According to NYC Planning's website, an idea cantidate "will have experience with GIS, spatial analysis, data visualization, and advanced Excel functionality (i.e., competency with index match and sumifs). Preferred skills also include Carto and SQL, but there could be opportunities to develop these skills on the job."
The 2019 Summer Internship Program runs from June 3rd to August 9th for a maximum of 34 hours per week. Compensation is $17.50 per hour.
