Book Talk | City of Gods: Religious Freedom, Immigration, and Pluralism in Flushing, Queens

Free and open to the public
| Penn Bookstore, 36th & Walnut Streets, 2nd Floor Study & Events Room

A synthesis of archival sources, oral history, and ethnography, City of Gods by R. Scott Hanson is a thought-provoking study of religious pluralism. Using Flushing as the backdrop to examine America’s contemporary religious diversity and what it means for the future of the United States, Hanson explores both the possibilities and limits of pluralism.

R. Scott Hanson is a Lecturer in the Department of History, and Director of the Social Justice Research Academy at the University of Pennsylvania. More on Dr. Hanson's background and body of work can be found here: http://rscotthanson.com/
