On Thursday October 10, 2019 at 10AM, the Philadelphia City Council will offer a resolution, sponsored by councilwoman Jannie Blackwell. This event will be held in the City Council Chambers during their regular City Council meeting.
This resolution is in recognition of Walter Palmer, an octogenarian, professor of Urban Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Palmer led the fight in Philadelphia and around the country for Black Power, Civil Rights, Afro-centrisim, and social justice since the 1950s.
Professor Palmer will be joined by a number of notable activists, many who he trained over the past decades.
