The Ecology of Homicide

Book cover

Eric C. Schneider (1951-2017) was an indispensable and long-time member of  the Urban Studies family at Penn. He called himself a "historian of the dark side," with earlier books on juvenile delinquency, gangs, and heroin.  He became ill while researching his book on homicide.  With the help of Dr. Howard Gillette, Professor of History Emeritus at Rutgers University-Camden, Eric's extensive research and notes have been realized into his final book: The Ecology of Homicide | Race, Place, and Space in Postwar Philadelphia published by University of Pennsylvania Press.
