The State of the US School System Today - Free Lunch

Penn Education Society
| Leadership Hall (Fox Leadership, 38th and Walnut)

Melanie Young, Urbs Junior and new VP for Penn Education Society (PES), would like you to know about their first event of the semester:

Join Penn Education Society (PES) as we host community leaders Claire Robertson-Kraft and Katie Schlesinger, Research Director and Project Manager, respectively, of Operation Public Education, a branch of Penn’s applied public policy unit that seeks to build new systems of assessment and accountability geared toward transforming America's schools. The topic of discussion, “The State of the US School System Today,” will serve as the launching point for topics PES will cover throughout the year. Adding urgency to the cause of rethinking education paradigms, this first of a series of Ed Bites challenges students to ask why have sources of inequality in the school system arisen in the first place - and why we should care.  For more information on the work that Penn Ed does or to get more involved in a project or committee, send an email to pennedsociety@gmail.com
